exhale

your burden

all that feels

heavy, uncertain, or just sad,

who we are is not our suffering,

the form that surrounds us is not meant to hold us

in place, trapped within starless thoughts, emotions and worries solely our own, because

the ledge between earth and sky although hazy and strange is simply that, a transition, a bridge

to the possible, to the impossible, to the generosity of grandeur, if only you, me, we might agree to

let go what is not ours, what we do not own, what we are not meant to grasp – and then, in turn, inhale

the fullness of the now’s atmosphere, of its day, of the majesty alive in the oceans of synchrony swirling

about us, allowing our experience to be bathed in the beauty of being, accepting the surprising touch

of color against porous skin, smell within open vision, taste connected with listening

to the pulse of shared witness, the soundlessness of selfless time

we are reborn with the sunrise, renewed

with each moment witnessed, all

eternity realized, inside

every single

breath
